Let’s be honest. For years, lenses were the boring part of the eyewear conversation.
You’d find your perfect frame, fall in love with it, and then get passed over to ‘just stick your prescription in.’ No real thought, no style input, just the basics of quality and thin lenses. That never sat right with me.
At The Optical Gallery, we’ve flipped the script. Lenses are no longer an afterthought, they’re the headline. They’re the art. This is what we call Lens Art.
It’s a term I coined when I realised how powerful lens customisation could be, not just medically, but creatively. Every day, we’re sent requests from around the world by people who’ve seen our videos on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Why? Because this isn't just about vision correction. It's about creating something that reflects your world and your style.
We work with Marma London, a lens manufacturer that’s built on innovation, precision, and, most importantly, creative freedom. Not every optician can work with Marma. They handpick who is allowed. Just like Cartier approve stockists. While most opticians are boxed into standard catalogues from big names like Zeiss or Essilor, we bypass the brand badge and go straight to the source. In fact, Marma manufactures some of the machines and technology those brands rely on. We're not stuck choosing from a preset menu. We’re cooking our own recipes.
Let’s talk photochromics. I used to love Transitions. I still respect them, but for what we’re doing now, I lean towards Dinamica technology. Why? Because it transitions smoothly, has better colour saturation, and it works beautifully in hot climates, something most photochromics can’t say. Dinamica has opened up a world of expressive colour-changing lenses, and we’re using it in ways the industry didn’t expect. (Expect a full deep dive video on our YouTube channel soon regarding Dinamica and its colours)
And then there’s the custom tints. We’re not just adding a bit of blue here or a bit of grey there. We’re building wearable lens cocktails. Our house favourites? Let me introduce you to:
OG Winter Berries
This has quickly become our most requested lens combo. It’s designed as the ultimate everyday enhancing lens, improving contrast, adding style, and keeping things beautifully wearable. We start with a 20% yellow base (for warmth and brightness), layer a 30% grey gradient (to soften top-down glare), and top it all off with a glamour coating for reduced halos and a gold-toned optical sheen.

And then the real magic: when you step into UV light, the lens transitions to a stunning berry pink using Dinamica tech, but the yellow base remains. That means even outside, you’re getting full protection and contrast. It’s designed to look incredible, but truthfully? It just works in every way, shape and form.
OG Tangerine Dreams
Think of this as the best all-day driving lens, and one of the most stylish we’ve made. It features a magma-inspired graduated tint that boosts contrast on the road and transitions to a red-to-pink tone in sunlight. Again, thanks to Dinamica. The glamour coating makes night driving a dream. No glare, no halos, just clarity and confidence.
The beauty of Lens Art is that it’s about more than optics. It’s about how you feel wearing your lenses. You can take the same frame in the same colour and completely change the vibe with a custom lens. And because we tailor everything to your needs, lifestyle, hobbies, and preferences, no two jobs are ever the same.
Even opticians contact us to ask how we’re doing it, but the truth is, they can't. It’s not just about having the tools. It’s about the creativity, the understanding of colour analysis, the confidence to break away from the standard and create something new.
And no, not every Marma stockist can do this. Having access to the lenses is one thing. Having the vision to use them? That’s where the artistry comes in.
I’m proud to say that clients around the world trust us to bring their eyewear to life. And if you've met me in store, you’ll know I wear OG Winter Berries myself. I haven’t taken them off since the beginning of the year, they’ve become part of my daily rhythm. Not just because they look great, but because they feel right.
We’re pushing what lenses can be, not just a necessity, but a statement.
Watch our Lens Art playlist to see the magic unfold. You'll be inspired, educated, and hopefully, entertained.
Because this is where optics meets culture.
