A trip to SILMO Paris has made something official that, for us, had already been developing for some time.
The Optical Gallery is now an official MASUNAGA stockist in London, representing MASUNAGA since 1905, MASUNAGA | K三 and the highly restricted MASUNAGA MOC – Masters of Craft collection.
MOC is available through only 100 selected stockists worldwide, making this a particularly special addition to The Optical Gallery.
And after seeing the new MASUNAGA MOC 2026 collection in Paris, we think collectors have plenty to look forward to.

Why MASUNAGA?
Our relationship with Masunaga actually started through Lens Art®.
Before becoming a stockist, clients from the UK and around the world were already sending us their own Masunaga, MOC and K三 eyewear for luxury reglazing and bespoke lens design.
The more pieces we handled, the more we appreciated them.
The construction. The titanium. The finishing. The details you don't necessarily appreciate from photographs.
Masunaga is a relatively quiet Japanese family company. Its reputation has been built around craftsmanship rather than hype, with eyewear manufacturing in Fukui dating back to 1905.
When we were approached about making the relationship official, it felt like a natural progression.

What Is MASUNAGA MOC?
MOC stands for Masters of Craft.
If traditional Masunaga represents Japanese restraint, MOC feels like the company flexing its muscles.
It's where Masunaga allows its craftsmen to push materials, construction and detailing further.
Sterling Silver 925.
Complex titanium work.
Precious-metal detailing.
And 5-micron gold plating, a technically demanding finish Masunaga itself highlights within the MOC collection.
Yet it still doesn't feel showy.
That's what we like about it.

First Look: MASUNAGA MOC 2026
At SILMO Paris we had an early look at the new MASUNAGA MOC 2026 releases, including MOC-007, MOC-008 and MOC-009 — the latest additions to the Masters of Craft collection.
The collection continues the mechanical, motorsport-influenced language collectors will recognise from previous MOC pieces, but Sterling Silver becomes particularly important for 2026.
Even the new silver presentation and packaging feels like part of the object.
There are several new pieces coming, but two navigators particularly caught our attention.
One is narrower, sharper and beautifully controlled.
The other is larger and considerably more commanding.
And among the new releases is a particular colour being produced in a run of only:
50 pieces worldwide.
We've secured one.

New MASUNAGA MOC 003 Colours
The new releases aren't the whole story.
The established MOC 003 is also receiving new colour options.
Two stood out immediately in Paris:
Racing Green
Deep, sophisticated and perfectly suited to MOC's motorsport-influenced character.
Slate Blue
Cooler, quieter and extremely refined.
The MOC 003 already combines titanium, substantial Japanese acetate detailing, Sterling Silver 925 components and 5-micron gold-plated elements.
The new colours give an already distinctive piece another personality.
And naturally, we've already started thinking about the lenses.

Our new relationship isn't limited to MOC.
The Optical Gallery will also carry MASUNAGA | K三, the collection created with legendary Japanese designer Kenzo Takada.
K三 combines Masunaga's eyewear craftsmanship with Kenzo Takada's distinctive approach to fashion, colour and design.
For clients searching for MASUNAGA K-3 in London, the collection will now sit alongside our wider Masunaga offering at The Optical Gallery.

The Optical Gallery is an official MASUNAGA MOC stockist in London. Our collection will include selected pieces from the new MASUNAGA MOC 2026 releases, including MOC-007, MOC-008 and MOC-009, alongside established Masters of Craft designs such as MOC 003.
