MASUNAGA MOC 2026: Masters of Craft Arrives in London
A trip to SILMO Paris has made something official that, for us, had already been developing for some time.
The Optical Gallery is now an official MASUNAGA stockist in London, representing MASUNAGA since 1905, MASUNAGA | K三 by Kenzo Takada and the highly restricted MASUNAGA MOC – Masters of Craft collection.
MOC is available through only 100 selected stockists worldwide, making this a particularly special addition to The Optical Gallery.
And after seeing the new MASUNAGA MOC 2026 collection in Paris, we think collectors have plenty to look forward to.
There is now another reason to be excited.
MASUNAGA Masters of Craft Confirmed for London — 28 October 2026
We can now confirm that MASUNAGA Masters of Craft will be at the MASUNAGA London Takeover at The Optical Gallery on Wednesday 28 October 2026.
This means collectors will have the opportunity to experience MASUNAGA MOC, including the new 2026 collection, in person in London, alongside the complete MASUNAGA since 1905 collection and MASUNAGA | K三 by Kenzo Takada.
Because the new MOC 2026 collection has not yet been officially released, we are not permitted to publish images of the new pieces online.
They can, however, be seen in person at the exhibition.
For anyone curious about the new MOC-007, MOC-008 and MOC-009, this will be a rare opportunity to see the frames, examine their construction and materials, compare the different designs and experience Masters of Craft properly.

Why MASUNAGA?
Our relationship with Masunaga actually started through Lens Art®.
Before becoming a stockist, clients from the UK and around the world were already sending us their own Masunaga, MOC and K三 eyewear for luxury reglazing and bespoke lens design.
The more pieces we handled, the more we appreciated them.
The construction.
The titanium.
The finishing.
The details you don't necessarily appreciate from photographs.
Masunaga is a relatively quiet Japanese family company. Its reputation has been built around craftsmanship rather than hype, with eyewear manufacturing in Fukui dating back to 1905.
When we were approached about making the relationship official, it felt like a natural progression.
What Is MASUNAGA MOC?
MOC stands for Masters of Craft.
If traditional Masunaga represents Japanese restraint, MOC feels like the company flexing its muscles.
It's where Masunaga allows its craftsmen to push materials, construction and detailing further.
Sterling Silver 925.
Complex titanium work.
Precious-metal detailing.
And 5-micron gold plating, a technically demanding finish Masunaga itself highlights within the MOC collection.
Yet it still doesn't feel showy.
That's what we like about it.
The craftsmanship does the talking.
MASUNAGA MOC is restricted to only 100 selected retailers worldwide, with production deliberately limited.

First Look: MASUNAGA MOC 2026
At SILMO Paris, we had an early look at the new MASUNAGA MOC 2026 collection, including MOC-007, MOC-008 and MOC-009 — the latest additions to Masters of Craft.
The collection continues the mechanical, motorsport-influenced language collectors will recognise from previous MOC pieces, but Sterling Silver becomes particularly important for 2026.
Even the new silver presentation and packaging feels like part of the object.
There are three very different personalities within the new releases.
We can't currently show you the frames online.
But we can tell you a little more about them.
And on 28 October in London, you'll be able to see them for yourself.
MASUNAGA MOC-007: Size, Dimensions & First Look
The new MASUNAGA MOC-007 is the lower and more compact of the new navigator-style MOC designs.
Its proportions are controlled and relatively narrow vertically, producing a sharper silhouette while retaining the intricate mechanical construction that defines Masters of Craft.

At only 32.9mm deep, MOC-007 has a noticeably shallower lens profile than MOC-008 and MOC-009.
From the collection we viewed, the colour combinations include cool blue lenses alongside silver and gold-toned metalwork, with darker combinations giving the design a very different character.
It is intricate without needing to be oversized.
For collectors who appreciate the engineering of MOC but prefer a tighter, more controlled lens shape, MOC-007 could be particularly interesting.
MASUNAGA MOC-008: Size, Dimensions & First Look
The MASUNAGA MOC-008 takes the navigator concept in a different direction.
While the lens width remains 52mm, the 40mm B measurement creates considerably more vertical depth than MOC-007.
The result is a stronger, more commanding frame while retaining the extraordinary mechanical detailing of the Masters of Craft collection.

The colourways we've seen give MOC-008 several very different personalities.
There are darker, more restrained combinations, warmer sunglass treatments and an especially striking Colour D, combining its lighter precious-metal appearance with green lenses.
And Colour D is particularly significant.

MOC-008 Colour D will be produced in a run of just 50 pieces worldwide.
The Optical Gallery has secured one.

MASUNAGA MOC-009: Size, Dimensions & First Look
Then there is MASUNAGA MOC-009.
MOC-009 introduces a much more substantial acetate presence around the underlying metal architecture.
The result is layered, technical and considerably more architectural.

The colour combinations we've seen include deep burgundy, dark blue and black tones, green lenses and warmer brown-toned variations.
The interaction between acetate and metal is particularly important here.
Rather than hiding the underlying construction, the layers become part of the design.
Of the three new pieces, MOC-009 arguably has the strongest visual presence.
It's also a frame that needs to be seen from different angles to really understand what is happening.

Although all three new MASUNAGA MOC models use a 52mm lens width, their proportions are quite different.

Deep, sophisticated and perfectly suited to MOC's motorsport-influenced character.

Cooler, quieter and extremely refined.
