This original West Germany Cazal 217 came from our private vintage collection in remarkable condition. Every line, proportion and signature lens facet reflected Cari Zalloni's original vision.
Our responsibility wasn't to redesign it.
It was to preserve it.
The original lens shape was traced with absolute precision before being recreated as a modern bespoke progressive prescription lens, allowing contemporary visual performance to exist within an untouched vintage design.
A subtle 10% solid grey tint introduced gentle indoor comfort without changing the personality of the frame.
Outdoors, Marma Dinamica Grey transforms the lenses naturally into sunglasses, while Crystal Elite coating delivers exceptional clarity, reduced reflections and effortless visual comfort.
Most importantly, the iconic upper lens facet—one of the defining characteristics of the original Cazal 217—was preserved exactly as intended.
Some details are simply non-negotiable.

Heritage
Designed during the early 1980s and stamped West Germany, the Cazal 217 represents an important chapter in eyewear history.
Rather than modernising its character, our goal was to preserve its originality while discreetly introducing today's most advanced lens technology.
The finished eyewear remains unmistakably Cazal.
The Lens Art simply allows it to continue being worn and appreciated for decades to come.
