Some frames demand contrast.
Others demand harmony.
The Parasite Astro 1 belongs firmly in the second category.
Its sculptural polyamide front, architectural geometry and layered materials already possess a strong visual identity. Rather than introducing a competing lens colour, the objective was to create a lens composition that felt as though it had been designed by Parasite from the beginning.
The lenses needed to become part of the frame.
Not an afterthought.
Technical Interpretation
The commission began with bespoke ZEISS progressive lenses, individually designed around the wearer's prescription before colour became part of the process.
ZEISS PhotoFusion X Grey was selected to provide fast-reacting adaptive photochromic performance, delivering a refined neutral grey outdoors while remaining comfortable for everyday indoor wear.
To reinforce the futuristic character of the frame, a ZEISS Jade Flash Mirror was introduced.
Indoors, the subtle jade reflection complements the cool tones of the polyamide front.
As ultraviolet light activates the PhotoFusion X Grey lenses outdoors, the deeper grey works in harmony with the black architectural detailing while the jade flash becomes increasingly vibrant, visually fusing the lenses into the frame itself.
The result is a composition where frame and lenses feel intentionally designed as one object.
